Sorry a new post didn't come sooner but it has been busy preparing for my guys sixth birthday party tomorrow and their birthday on Monday.
I heard from the second x-ray and everything looked good.
Give most of my blood and other stuff away but haven't heard back from that yet.
And the lung function test or whatever it is called is scheduled for this Wednesday, February 16th at 10:30am.
Hold your breath (so to speak)!

X-ray 2
Well a second x-ray was done yesterday (I guess I didn't smile the first time). And probably the pints of blood will be drawn tomorrow. Haven't hear yet when the lung capacity or function (whatever it's called) test will be done. My doctor said they would phone for the appointment in a week, or a month depending on how busy they are. So a wait and see will happen. As far as the x-ray I guess something was spotted and they wanted to do another x-ray to make sure before the next step, whatever that next step might be. I had to assume the funnies pose for the x-ray, I should have taken my camera and had the tech take my photo while in this pose. I was facing the machine and had to arch my back backwards with my back up against the film chamber I guess so they could shoot up into my chest. I don't know but it was very uncomfortable.
So shall wait for those results along with all the blood they will take tomorrow. Gotta say I am getting slightly worried about all this.

The beginning
I knew it had been a long time, but seven years! It is just not something you think about all the time. Maybe it was because I am rapidly approaching my 50th birthday. Maybe it was because I wasn't feeling as good as I used to. It was time to have a complete physical. This was not something I was looking forward to but who does? I have smoked a good portion of my adult life. Oh I know the comments coming, well you have smoked a long time so you deserve something bad to happen to you. Well that doesn't make it any easier.
The appointment was last week and because of the time since my last one a whole battery of tests were to be done. First a chest x-ray, then a lung capacity test, then, what seemed like, a couple of pints of blood to be taken. Well perhaps a sign of things to come came during the chest x-ray when the technician said "Is one side of your chest hurt more than the other?" "No" I replied. Then the phone call yesterday from my doctor indicating that something was spotted on the x-ray and they want to take another from a different angle and review that before a possible ct scan.
This is the beginning of a possible difficult journey. I don't know right now what is going to happen during this journey but I will document most of it here. Hopefully all turns out alright. I need to be here for my twin boys. Today involves making the second x-ray appointment and trying to get all the samples required before going for the blood work.
Life is a journey and some trips are bumpier than others.
